Donors of Color Network

Donors of Color Network (DOCN), a membership based organization that serves as the giving home to high net-worth donors of color, partnered with Rivera Consulting to develop an impact and asset-driven strategic planning process. Through this exercise, the network, with the support of our evidence-based strategic planning approach, was able to define its broader ecosystem role in the world of philanthropy, politics, and the racial equity and justice movement.

Rivera Consulting developed a strategic planning research framework that accounted for the multi-stakeholder nature of this organization. By alternating phases of data collection and analysis throughout the process, this framework was able to foster trust and alignment building among DOCN’s core constituencies as well as to create spaces for sustainable decision-making.

Our 360° exploration of the organization, performed through the perspectives of internal and external stakeholders, allowed for the network to analyze where it has been, where it stands today, and what is the strategic path they want to embark on through the next 5 years.
