BPDA - Allston-Brighton Needs Assessment

The neighborhoods of Allston and Brighton in the City of Boston are seeing some of the highest rates of development in the city. The project team of Archipelago Strategies Group (ASG), Utile Design, Rivera Consulting (RC), and the Allston-Brighton Community Development Corporation (ABCDC), collectively known as AURA, designed multiple layers of mixed-method analysis and external community engagement to unearth both quantitative and qualitative lessons that capture both community insight and direct resident need.

Central to the design of this assessment was the centering of direct community resident needs regarding the lived experience and lived-in built environment of individuals in the neighborhood.

Our firm led the research design and execution of small- to large-scale service provider interviews and focus groups. The research we completed in this engagement was foundational for the ongoing community planning and development process for improving service experiences especially for priority residents groups.
